Floreat further strengthens aviation finance capability with appointment of Phil Griffiths

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Griffiths as Managing Director within Floreat Aviation Capital Limited, our specialist aircraft leasing investment arm. As investors look for ways to diversify away from traditional bonds or equities, innovative real-asset structures – such as those backed by commercial aircraft – are helping meet their demands.

Phil brings extensive experience in the aviation sector, having closed over $10 billion in aircraft finance and leasing transactions since 2003. He joins from DAE Capital, where he headed the company’s corporate finance and capital markets team. Prior to this, he held various senior roles at AWAS, PK AirFinance, Rolls-Royce Capital and Airbus.

We have been investing in aircraft assets since 2015 and we are committed to building our capabilities in the sector. We are continuing to engage with leading global aircraft lessors and investment banks to source attractive aircraft-backed investment opportunities - aiming to be among the leading specialist aircraft-backed business in Europe.

We are delighted to have someone of Phil’s experience and network join us as we look to increase our footprint in this market

Mark Rogers, Managing Director, Aviation

Phil Griffiths commented: “Floreat is establishing itself as a leading player in what is becoming an increasingly mainstream sector for UK private and institutional investors. I’m excited to be joining at this time of growth and working to provide clients with the potential to generate risk-adjusted and uncorrelated returns.”
